Hi, Toms Com Team.

Everyone in the game is suggesting that we should have a minimum of 480W as a power supply for future upgrades but my budget is stretched as it is and I dig the look of RaidMax's Cobra 400W. With a 6800GT, 1 gig of ram, WD Raptor 36 gig 10000 RPM, 1 Multi Format LG DVD burner and the standard accessories would you guys believe the 400w Raidmax could cover it.

I rarely upgrade and I've never overclocked in my life [I know, I know, I'm missing out on something in life aren't I by not doing it!]

Any help would be great. Tom's community is sensational for info only because you guys take the time to make it so. Thanks.

I don't know that I would trust that power supply. Raidmax makes halfway decent extremely cheap cases but I don't know that I would want a power supply made by them. If you are on a tight budget a Fortron Source or Sparkle power supply would probably be the way to go.

I highly recomend Antec PSUs. If they are in your budget definatly go for one. They are definatly a little more expensive than other brands but it is worth it.

You can get Aopen power supplies in Australia, those with FSP part numbers are Fortron Source (same as Sparkle Power), should be reasonably priced, and outperform many other brands (including Antec).
