Hey guys, i was wondering if the AMD X370 MOTHERBOARD is compatible with the Corsair 16 GB DDR4-3000 Kit. My CPU is a Ryzen 7 1700x. Can you guys tell me if this is a good choice of RAM for me? Costs 190,- Euro's and i can't get any other RAM. :c

When you ask about PC components you need to be specific. All X370 motherboards are designed for AMD CPUs. The actual name is what you need to determine the best solution. I would Google the name of the motherboard, visit the motherboard's webpage, click on support and finally click on Memory compatibility or Memory QVL.

99.9% positive that RAM will work beautifully in there. I mean it will work but the QVL may hold a better or less expensive option.

Do you happen to know where i can find the QVL for the Motherboard? :3 it's an MSI X370 PRO Carbon MoBo 😛

Also don't put whole faith in those QVLs, most of the time they don't test even half of available components. As of now, all DDR4 up to 3000MHz work on whole Ryzen platform. All Ryzen processors have IMC (Internal Memory Controller) built in the processor and is less dependable on BIOS and MB. Only problem could be with a particular BIOS that may not interpret XMP profile properly and OC over 3000MHz.
Default an all of them is 2133MHz

And now I see your RAM description leaves some to be desired. It will work but it'snot included in the QVL, which is more of a guideline. They can't test all modules.

I understand this https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Vengeance-288-Pin-Desktop-CMK16GX4M2B3200C16R/dp/B014HCGJSI is not something you can buy. That is however included in the memory QVL.

So, let's assume out answer was no. You said " i can't get any other RAM". What would you have done? Where you live only sells one RAM module for Ryzen? Please understand that ummm sounds odd. Granted selection varies from region to region but 1 RAM module?

There are more but most are way overpriced, just like the one u just showed me... costs 300 euro's here. that's wayyy too much for me. And i still can't find the QVL list on the website you linked me..

So you think that the RAM i showed would work on the MoBo? I heard from other people that they just had to put it on 3000MHz manually but that it was fine after that. And if you think this RAM will be a little risky, do you have any alternatives for me? 😛

Yes, i know those are the right ones. But they aren't in stock for quite some time.. And all the other parts of my PC arrive in around 2 days. So i need to find some RAM rather quickly.

okay then i guess i'll have to do with the first ones, thanks.
