Ram Bus Speed

If a 8 gb ddr3 ram has a bus speed of 1866 , can it be used on 1600 because the maximum bus speed my mobo can support is 1600

check your motherboard user manual--it may support higher speed but refer to it as overclocking the ram

no one of my corsair vengeance 8gb ram is already installed and has the max bus of 1600 , it would be useless to check for my motherboard manual , can't have two Rams on different bus speeds

Will it be a problem to have a corsair vengeance 8gb 1600 and another 8gb hyper x fury 1866 downclocked at 1600 , is it bad to have two Rams of different brands ? Sorry I know it's a silly question

yes its not a great idea to mix ram--ideally you want the same modules

may work ok may not

+1 ANY time you mix DRAM from different packages, even those of the same exact model, it can be and often is problematic
