Ram compatiblity for my board

I have an asrock 960 gc gs fx board can someone please find me a compatible 8gb ram from Amazon.in or flip kart ? I checked the manufacturer site but I didn't understand a thing from their article !! Thanks in advance I am using Athlon x2 250 processor

This is a tricky one.

and make a screenshot of what it says under "memory"(or write that down) and let me see it.

Your CPu can only handle DDR3-1066, so there's no point in having anything abouve that. Any and all of the parts i linked are good. The QVL list from the MB is not mandatory.

Doesn't matter. RAM works at lower frequencies. I said 100%, didn't i?

Don't try to also use your existing ram. Just populate the black slots with what i linked. 8 is max that mobo will support and you can't use both the yellow(ddr2) and the black(ddr3) slots.

While looking on amazon.in i saw that both stock and pricing are really bad. Is it like that with all computer parts over there?

I'd check with the Rock before purchasing those, the Fury operate off PnP, not positive that the mobos chipset supports PnP. Other DRAM is XMP based rather than PnP

Hmmm. Does it have to support PnP. A 1600 DDR3 working at 1066 is in pure JEDEC territory, no?

I see. Then it's really tough luck for OP, as, from what i've searched, he'll probably end up paying double for what he needs.
So, basicaly, when dealing with old chipsets, the QVL list and fingers crossed to still find something from it is the way to go?
Also, beacuse of these chip density issue, would it be a safe bet to say that if an old motherboard supports max 8 gb, it will prbably not support them with a single stick?

Yes, generally if the board is max 8GB and 2 slots, then 4GB sticks, or 8GB and 4 slots then 2GB stick per slot
