I need help..
I have to put the hardware detail first
Rig: Asus Laptop X555QG
CPU: AMD A10-9260P
RAM: DDR4 8GB with 1866Mhz
Those details are Factory built from Asus, and i bought it around 2015 or 2016, and here is the problem detail.
I was planning to upgrade the laptop with new SSD and another 8GB RAM, and after thorough search i couldn't find any DDR4 8GB 1866 Mhz and the worst part it seems doesn't exist from the beginning except if i am looking for DDR3 RAM, there is one DDR3L with 1866 Mhz, and So i was looking for substitute and i found that the closer speed is DDR4 2133 Mhz and so i bought it, with notes i do knew that the bigger speed will suit itself to the lower speed.
Believe it or not everything was going perfect, the laptop still boot to windows, and my RAM increased to 16GB, and i was doing update here and there, when suddenly Windows suggest me a BIOS update and i know stupid of me, i did the update, and after the BIOS update, my laptop won't boot up, so i thought "omg, i'm so dead, the bios is corrupt". I did everything but turns out i just need to unplug the extra RAM, and the laptop works normal.
I tried to downgrade the BIOS version from 329 to 328 *refer to ASUS website*, and i still can't get it right.
So here i am asking for help, if i downgrade and skip version to the earlier model example 319, will it destroy my mainboard? or should i just downgrade step by step from 328 325 and go on. I need to know this because i didn't remember the BIOS version which the RAM works.
