A ram disk is when you use a program to reserve ram as actual storage space.

Ram has a crazy high throughput, several 12-24 gigabytes a second for DDR4.

Any games installed to that space would be able to launch incredibly quickly.

The downside to this is it takes away from your current available ram, which can cause issue if you only have 8 gigabytes or lower total ram.
