Ram dont work

So i bought a new computer without ram because i have a 2gb ddr2 667mhz memory,but the memory dont work and if i try to run with 512 ram ddr2 667 mhz all it's allright.On google it says my computer can handle 8gb ram 800mhz max.

My pc specs are:
Mobo:Hp compaq dc7800 cnvertible minitower
Gpu:ati radeon hd5450
Cpu:Intel core2duo e6550

HP made PCs for several years that only allowed whitelisted hardware. If the RAM you have is not on that list then it wont work.

If it is so where can i see that list?

I saw something that says it will work only if i have another memory of 2gb.It is possible?
