Question ram fails memtest 86 in dual channel, but passes in single channel

but when trying it in single channel (switching ram slots each attempt) it passes?

Is your ram a single matched kit?
Or, is it two identical part numbers?
Ram must be matched for proper operation.

Is the ram on the motherboard ram qvl list ?
Or, is it explicitly supported for your cpu/mobo combo by the ram vendor.

ryzen is finicky about ram. Not all ram will run properly.

Are there any motherboard bios updates that address ram compatibility?

I have gotten the same problem before as well. Make sure the ram are in the right slots. Try shifting it over (say your ram were in slots 1 and 3, now you put them in 2 and 4 vice verca)
