I want to know if I can use the 8GB 4X2GB Dell OptiPlex 745 DDR2 PC2-5300 Memory in my Dell optiplex 755 as I would save a lot of we can say $$$.
it is a desktop 755 and it now has 2gb in it of ram.

a clear answer would be Highly Appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, that should work fine provided your system isn't SFF (only two DIMM slots) and it's not server memory ("registered").

I should point out that very nearly any DDR2 5300 or 6400 sticks will work in such a system, and those go for $4 to $6 a 2GB stick used on eBay. PC2-6400 would be preferable if you are using the IGP.

The 745 appears to use either the Q963 or Q965 chipset, while 755 uses either the G31 or G33. All of these can accept 8GB of DDR2 except the crippled G31 is unable to remap PCIE/APIC memory to above 4GB so can never actually use more than 3.25GB of memory, even with a 64-bit OS. You would recognize this chipset as it has ICH7 (that does not support AHCI) in device manager, instead of ICH9.

Thanks a lot sir and one more thing I would like a below 25$ graphics card with best value for my money and low profile and it would be great if i could run rocket league and overwatch on it on about 30 fps that would be amazing and I would like to know if this card is worth Buying

DELL 1CX3M Radeon HD6350 512MB Low Profile Graphic Card 01CX3M
for 16$.

Thanks a lot for any answer.

Yep, although that HD6350 card generally comes with only a low-profile bracket so would only fit the SFF case, not the desktop or minitower which can even accept full-height cards (those do fit low-profile cards too but only with a full-height bracket). It is also woefully underpowered, far below the minimum system requirements for those two games.

I would suggest something a bit faster like the GT740 or any Kepler GT640 (avoid Fermi models), which do just meet the minimum requirements. You do know you don't have to buy a Dell graphics card, right?

You haven't said yet if you have a G31 chipset, which would allow you to install 8GB and see it, but not use it. Well I used to use ramdisk software in XP and Win7 that would let you put the pagefile in RAM above 3.25GB, but I never did find any free software that let you do the same in Windows 8 or 10.
