Hey all. So currently im using stock ram from an old pc, it is Hyundai Electronics 12GB DDR3 (PC3-12800). Now i know nothing about ram, so for a gaming PC, would it make more sense to upgrade this memory? Or invest in a whole new faster set as a whole. I recently just picked up a GTX 1070, and figured i could use a ram boost as well to get the best performance.

For a gaming PC I'd just get a new rig altogether, DO NOT put the 1070 in the old PC, the power supply will be very low quality and low wattage, and you might end up frying everything.
Given the amount of RAM in that PC specs would also be good.
What is your budget for the whole rig?

Already have a rig built, im saying that i am using RAM from an old pc, all the other parts in my computer are brand new i just never bought new ram.

I would know if the ram is compatible, i have a new set picked out on amazon. Im just not sure if it would be wiser to add more of the current PC3-12800 ram i have now, or just scrap it for 16 gb of a faster ram.
