I own this ASUS notebook (ASUS N550JV-CN214H) and i seriously need some more RAM so I can play my games before my desktop computer is finished, can I do it and what kind of memory do I need?

Solution
most laptops come with the amount of ram supported (16 gb in your case) check how much you have, if you do have 16 gb of ram that is not what is limiting you for gaming ;) if you dont have 16 gb of ram you should look for DDR3L SDRAM in a kit of two.

I don't have 16GB of RAM, I only have 8GB. Should I spend money, even if it won't affect gaming, or should I just let it be? And also, I don't know if I have one memory part (1x(GB) or a two piece set (2x4GB). If I have a 2x4GB, can I leave one of the stock parts or it just wn't be compatible? And storage isn't a problem either, I have a 750GB HDD (for the OS and other computer files) and a 120GB SSD (for games), could it be the graphics card failing me?Thank you for the help! :D

Well there is no way (that i know of) of telling how many ram sticks you have other than opening your laptop up and counting. If you have 1 stick, another identical one will be compatible. Also I would say that it’s your graphics card limiting you i have one from the same family (730m) and its performance has decreased drastically in the last year. Unfortunately swapping graphics cards in prebuilt laptops is almost never an option

Well, then you know my struggle :p i play GRID Autosport and it runs fine, at max quality, but NFS Most Wanted (2012) lags a lot... I'm going to take a risk and buy a new RAM stick that is compatible. Thanks for the help!
