Question Ram for ryzen 2*8gb add 2*8gb or buy 2*16gb

Hi i have q about rams upgrade. i have ryzen 3600xt geting 5700x3d and 2*8gb ram is to low now.

asus tuf b550m plus wifi
ryzen 3600xt geting 5700x3d
Viper4 2*8gb 3733mhz 17-21-21-41
RX 6700xt

so wonder add same ram 2slots for total 4*8gb for 65$
or getting 2*16gb some thing like
Trident Z Neo DDR4-3600 CL16-19-19-39 1.35V 32GB (2x16GB) for 100$

f you're certain your next PC investment will be a straight upgrade to AM5, then get the two eight gigabyte sticks. Or, if you don't use any programs or do work that requires more than 32 gigabytes, that would be a fine upgrade. However, given the CPU you currently have, you could reasonably stay on AM4 for awhile longer, upgrading to something like the Ryzen 5700X3D one or two years down the line, in which case, grabbing the better sticks for 100 dollars right now might be a better purchase, leaving room for even more potential memory once you upgrade your CPU.

Adding ram to the old ram can be iffy.
The new ram may not play nice with the old ram even if it's the same make and model.

The 2x16 kit should be less fuss.

Go with the 2x16gb.

Ram is sold in kits for a reason.
A motherboard must manage all the ram using the same specs of voltage, cas and speed.
The internal workings are designed for the capacity of the kit.
Ram from the same vendor and part number can be made up of differing manufacturing components over time.
Some motherboards, can be very sensitive to this.
This is more difficult when more sticks are involved.
Ram must be matched for proper operation.

Buy the 2 x 16gb kit and keep the old as a spare.
