Can i install a 4 gb ddr4 2400mhz ram with 8 gb ddr4 2400mhz ram??

technically, you should be able to , but as in all computer electronics things, adding single stick to a single stick system may or may not bring issues , especially when using disparate sizes like you are doing. what make and model of motherboard as well as the 8gb and 4gb ram sticks are we talking about.
we can check specifications to make sure it should all go well...
