Hello everybody.
I've got 4 ram modules, 3 are recognized and are working proparly, the fourth isn't i think. The system doesn't recognize the manufacturer and only 3 JEDEC are functioning. It makes no difference in wich slot i put the RAM.
Is it a goner ?

( not sure if i did this the right way and the picture is shown )

If its not picking up the JEDEC then i would think its a bad stick. You could try running CPUID and check under the memory tab to see if that can read the stick or not, It will give you a total and obviously if its not reading it it wont be included in the total.

Just a different way to check really. I like Si soft Sandra for this sort of thing also. Its free if you download the lite version.

I did use cpuid and tried to insert a picture from that in my thread but it didn't work obviously. It says in the memory that it's 8192 mb so thats right, but in the SPD you can see the different slots and three have 4 JEDECS working and have the manufacturers name, but the fourth has only 3 jedecs working and no brandname.

So its being recognized and all the timings are fine its just not displaying a brand name ? What about the part number or the serial or any of that at the top ?
Which one isn't displaying ?
At the end of the day the EPP ones are just settings that your Ram is capable of running at, as the frequency goes higher they will adjust to suit from what i understand of it. You will notice that as the frequency goes up on the top line the timings below get looser. kinda pre ordained self overclocking settings if you will.
As long as the faulty stick is showing the timings that your main memory tab is showing you Ram running at i wouldn't worry about it not knowing the manufacturers name. Even if its not showing those exact timings i would not worry too much.
It seems to know its there.

What does the resource monitor have to say about it ? Its under the performance tab in the task manager, then obviously select the memory tab.

It's not only not saying the brand name, but all the others have JEDEC#1, JEDEC#2, JEDEC#3 and JEDEC#4 and then a listing of frequency, CAS#latency, Voltage and other stuff. The fourth only has three ; JEDEC# 1, 2 and 3.
It does say part and serial number and i couldn't care less about the brand name, but because of the "missing" JEDEC#4 i got worried that it isn't working proparly or at least that this one is not as good and fast as the other ones.
Other question if i'am permitted ; would it be worth the money buying faster strips, i believe these are pretty slow ?

Oke, it should be allright then. Still i don't trust the one with the missing JEDEC.
Last question then ; is it worth putting faster ram in the system ?

Your CPU according to the Intel spec sheet uses 1066 or 1333 Ram You already have 1333 Ram installed i believe from what numbers you have provided.
So unless you want to Overclock and don't fancy pushing the sticks you have ( Some will run above rated speeds) then i don't see any benefit in putting faster Ram in the system.
If you fancy a tinker then you could try and tighten the timings for some extra performance but it would be minimal at best.

Oke, even if the ram runs on 667 mhz ?
