Ram not being utilised to its full extent

Hey guys i have 8gb of ram initially i had 4gb but i replaced it with 8gb same model and company. but, while playing ram consuming games like witcher 3,fallout 4,battlefield 1 ram usage is not exceeding 5gb only getting 4.8gb at max while running game.i checked the ram and how much it is usable it is 8gb exact in properties but i cant get maximum ram(i.e; utilising upto 8gb) my system is i5 4200u 2.3ghz 64-bit hp laptop.....can anyone tell me a fix to this problem!! Thank you

It only uses how much ram it needs. If you're using 4.8 you should get a noticable bump in performance from the addition

I mean system should have 6gb ram to run the game smoothly but it is not using 6gb instead using 5gb and game is lagging

Any game or application will only use as much RAM as it needs, not all the RAM that is installed.

Gpu is the most important part when gaming. If your laptop has a weak GPU, then no amount of extra ram will help.
BTW - what is the precise model name of your laptop?

Gpu is the most important part when gaming. If your laptop has a weak GPU, then no amount of extra ram will help.

Gpu is intel hd graphics 4400 and nvidia gt 740m 2gb ddr3

NO ONE OF MY FRIENDS HAS THE SAME LAPTOP. IN TASK MANAGER IN PERFORMANCE HIS MEMORY SECTION IS SHOWING 7GB USING OUT OF 8GB WHILE PLAYING BATTLEFIELD 1 IS THERE ANY SOLUTION? I WANT TO PLAY MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA I CAN'T UNLESS I FIX THIS MEMORY USAGE PROBLEM..

Can you open Resource Monitor,
switch to Memory tab and
post screenshot with Physical Memory graph visible?

Sorry for the late reply, in resource monitor in memory section some memory is in standby(not using almost 2.7 gb) in graphs,used physical memory is 60%,commited is 65%and hard faults sometimes jumping to 100% sometimes there are highs and lows..
