ram not recognized

I have this GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 AM3+ AMD 990FX 8 x SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

But when I install it the computer don't post
Im thinking dead ram because I installed the other ram and it post
is it safe to try to set the bios to 1333 and timings for the gskill then power down
and try and install?

Test the ram with memtest86.

Try one stick at a time, they should work with your mobo

ok i tried oen stick that didnt work but i installed the 4gb from my gateway and it and it worked

What's the stick from your gateway? Did it work in all dimm slots?

Did the 8gb ripjaws stick work?

ITs only showing 4gb as useable right now . im gona swap em and see if changes

the stick ddnt work it shows up but in windows it shows as hardware reserved and not used
