Hi!
I am not entirely new to the whole spec game, however, I recently started learned more in-depth about hardware and what combinations work there. Also in software, what's not a virus and what is etc. etc.
I have had this problem ever since I bought the motherboard I currently have installed, the RAM and CPU. I have 2x Corsair XMS3 8 GB (2 x 4GB) 1333 MHz CMX8GX3M2A1333C9 (I will include full spec-list below so you can easier help me figure this out.)
Now I know that the "2x4" means that there's essentially 2 RAM-sticks in 1 and this particular one has 2x 4GB sticks which makes the whole stick an 8gb stick. But my issue here is that the computer only detects half of each stick (4GB /stick), giving me 8GB RAM total, when I should have 16GB. I thought it was just one of the sticks being bad. But just now I opened the "performance" tab in Task Manager and found that it said on the far left edge: "slots used: 2 of 4". And if I hovered my cursor over it it said: "slot 2: 4,0 GB, 667MHz" and "slot 4: 4,0 GB, 667MHz". Now there is another interesting mystery. The RAM sticks each have 1333MHz of speed, but it only registers as (when I checked a system info software) 666.7MHz. I did a check-up on how much RAM my CPU but I couldn't find anything. I know that the stick has the performance profile XMP. And I googled that aswell on how to set that up, but when I got to the BIOS, it was already enabled.
So now begs the questions, do I keep searching for an answer? Do I give up and get a new computer? (Which I would love to not have to do since I'm a bit tight when it comes to money.) Do I get new RAM-sticks that doesn't use the "2x4" tag but just simply 8GB sticks?
As for the speclist I promised;

Resource Monitor (Memory Usage)
Task Manager > Performance > CPU
If there is any questions as to what else is needed to come up with an answer and I haven't included it here, just reply and I'll get back you as soon as possible!
Thank you for taking the time to read!
