Hi everyone,
Im building a new computer finally.
My initial future build had an intel cpu and it was not until recently that i decided to go with the Ryzen 7800x3d. My hope is price will drop a bit with the 9800x3d out. Sadly it doesn't look like the 9800x3d is much better in performance so that may not happen.

Long story short. a friend of mine bought me G.Skill Ripjaws S5 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR5-6400 CL32 Memory before i decided to go with the 7800x3d. Will this ram still work with the ryzen cpu?

for my Ryzen build its
Mobo: Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX ATX AM5.

nothing has been bought yet and on that mobos webcite i only found this ram under compatibility.

6400G.SKILL16GB1Rx8F5-6400J3239G16GX2-TZ5KSSHynix32-39-39-102
so i might need to change my mobo selection?

thats the mobo that i currently have selected. I have not purchased anything yet. If that board looks good to others ill go with it, but if there are alternatives that might b better than im open to ideas.
The specific memories go in and work without the slightest problem. What stands out is the very low profile and the cost (maybe in the process you will need another pair, so you should keep in mind not to spend a lot of money later)

what do you mean by this? I already have the ram, it was gifted to me. why would i need another pair? or do you mean by pair, like pairing between my ram and that mobo?

I mean you'll need another pair in the future
Anyone who starts now to build from 32 GB starts

Be exactly the same and you won't have a problem
If you get another motherboard you will see if it supports 6400 memory

Follow up to this ram question. the ram i have is specifically for intel XMP. so if do decide to use this ram, then i simply wont be able to use the xmp profile and will have to overclock/tune the ram myself yes?

When the memory says 6400, it means that it gets there with the activation of XMP Profile

Please select from the G.Skill RAM Configurator:

https://www.gskill.com/configurator...524715126&chipset=1665024430&model=1665025597

Only these models have been validated to run at full speed with AMD EXPO on that motherboard model.

As you can see the motherboard model mentioned has not been approved for DDR5-6400.

Also, if you need 64GB, get 64GB now. You can not buy 32GB now and add 32GB later with good results. Only a single kit of memory should be used in each system.

A more ridiculous configurator could not exist.
In the signature I have 3 computers, 2 are in spoilers
All 3 use G.Skill
I mention what the memories are
With the RAM Configurator, please see if they appear in QVL
And don't tell me that one is ddr4 and the other ddr5
and it's not the same, because we're talking about the RAM Configurator you uploaded
I hope you don't work there because I will be very upset
