Ram reading is false?

Hi all, im fairly new to pc's and im attempting to OC my i5 but i noticed something with my cpu-z. My mobo came with one and i figured id try to update it but instead of doing that i downloaded a new version of CPU-Z.. anyways i have ram thats rated at 3200mhz and have 16gb of RAM when i had XMP enabled one was saying it was pushing to 3200mhz the other did not.. i found the issue to be the CPU-Z that came with my mobo is giving false readings since AIDA 64 and the updated version of CPU-Z are giving me the same readings.. anyways the question is why would they be different? is something wrong with my ram? is it faulty? im at a loss

Actually, all 3 show same RAM speed - around 2133 MHz, except the motherboard version of CPU-Z shows it already doubled and the other two don't. Why? Probably someone at mobo team decided that showing non-doubled value is confusing to some inexperienced users (because it is) and asked for a change to make it show doubled - which is now even more confusing.

In short, it is real clock rate but ddr stands for double data rate, you need to times 2.

Those are the same readings presented two different ways, the second screen is the actual frequency, the first screen is the DDR4 speed.

In neither case is the RAM operating at DDR4 3200 (which is 1600Mhz)

No, you're running lower than the speed the RAM can actually manage. focus on one reporting agent, usually the latest CPUz. Just be aware that it's showing you the so called DDR4 speed. So out of 3200Mhz possible, you're running at 2144 (did you bump the FSB speed a little, this should be 2133 or close?).

The actual real RAM frequency is half of that and may be reported in BIOS as half of what CPUz shows.

Aside from the fact that you are not using all speed of those sticks (at least when those screenshots were made you were not using it) nothing is wrong with your RAM.
