Question RAM slot is not working after water damage

Hi, I ran into a problem yesterday. Water spilled on my laptop (HP pavilion gaming 15) accidentally. That was not much but enough to damage it.

Now it's running but one of the ram slots is not working. I tested both sticks (8 gb + 8 gb). They are fine in slot 1. But ram in slot 2 is not usable.

In pc settings I see 16 gb in memory amount, but only half of it usable. So it's obvious it cant use the ram in 2nd slot.

What can I do in this situation, can the ram slot be repaired?

Another question, can I get the same performance if I just use a 16gb ram in slot 1? Thanks in advance

No. Only fix: new MoBo.

But since yours is laptop, might as well buy a new laptop.

No.

Performance diff is this;
comparison: https://ram.userbenchmark.com/Compa...vs-HyperX-Fury-DDR4-2133-C14-2x4GB/3555vs3554

Both RAMs are same make and model, same frequency (2133 Mhz), same CAS Latency (C14), total amount is also same (8 GB), where only diff is, that one is 1x 8GB (running in single-channel) and another is 2x 4GB (running in dual-channel).
Same applies to the 1x 16GB vs 2x 8GB.
