Hi Everyone I had started putting together my first PC build last night and everything was going as smoothly as you can get when your new then I got to installing the ram. But something was wrong I had noticed my mobo's ram slots only had two security tab parallel to each other. So I tried installing it anyway and it won't lock into place.

My mobo: ASROCK B250M-HDV
my ram: G.SKILL AEGIS DDR4 (8gb one stick)

Thats pretty normal with a lot of boards now, just make sure you push it into the non locking side first, then down into the locking side, not straight in the way you are trying to do it. if you look closley at the bottom of the RAM stick, you'll notice the PCB isnt actually straight, its concave, walk / step it in, a little bit on each side at a time, as long as the non locking side goes all the way in first.

Once you get it in, just double check the non locking side is pushed right in.

In addition to those words of wisdom the left side does have a locking tab. The RAM has two indentations on either side. Make sure the tab on the left side is properly inserted into the indentation as you hold the left side and press to the right to engage the lever. It just takes a little patience. If it isn't the left side will rise up as you try to engage the lever.

On a side note that feature is to allow users with extra long graphic cards an easier way to remove or replace their RAM.
