So this is a follow-up thread from my previous one about memory.

I am planning to build a digital audio workstation (DAW) PC with Skylake i7 6700k and a Z170 motherboard (leaning towards the Sabertooth Z170 Mark 1 for its high durability and aesthetics). I don't think I will be doing any overclocking on this machine. I decided to go with 32GB memory (2 x 16GB dual channel setup).

I use Cuase 8.5 as my DAW software. I am not planning to do any external recording (microphone, guitar, etc.) but will be running a TON of synths and samples from virtual studio technology (VST) instruments all at once.

With that said, should I settle for 2133MHz RAM? Is there any benefit in going for higher RAM speeds than that?

Not really no you wont see much improvement in getting ram that runs at a faster speed.
The real thing you should be focusing on is how much ram you have fitted to the system.

And you already have that well covered for a DAW setup with 32 GB Pc superhero.

If you are not going to overclock, why get the "k" CPU and "Z" motherboard? 32GB of 2133mhz ram should be good. ( I have 4GB of 1333mhz ram on my poor old ProTools system and can record up to 48 tracks with no problems, but I use only 1 or 2 virtual instruments on most sessions).

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I think the i7 6700k is natively faster than the i7 6700, which is why I'm considering the "k" version. As for the sabertooth motherboard, I am choosing it mostly for its aesthetics and durability. The armor on the motherboard looks amazing. However, I am worried that the optional chipset fans on the motherboard will be noisy. I don't know whether it would be okay for the system to not use the chipset fan.
