Hello, I am planning to buy a laptop and I want to know will the ram speed on laptop affect its performance (1600MHz vs 1066MHz). Thanks!

Solution

Well 1600MHz is better, but there's no point paying extra for it if that's all you're going to be doing.

Laptop will only be used for watching videos and using social networks. What would be the right pick in your opinion?

So, there is no real benefit of having faster ram if that is all this laptop will be used for?

I agree with Tradesman1's point about 'future proofing', but how exactly would there be a difference while browsing the web?

Now whether or not there's a point in getting the faster RAM depends on a few things:
1. What are the rest of the specs of these laptops?
2. How big is the price difference?
3. How well do you (Mihovil) know what you'll be doing with the laptop in the foreseeable future?

Well, the price difference isnt major but this really isnt a laptop that I will use on regular basis considering that I have a decent PC but this is just when Im traveling or for school use, but I still want to make sure I have a decent lag free laptop for these tasks.
