Solution geofelt Apr 15, 2016 If your main purpose is gaming and not heavy multitasking, 8gb is fine and not worth replacing. Sandy bridge does not benefit much from fast ram. Here is a report on ram speed scaling: http://www.anandtech.com/show/4503/sandy-bridge-memory-scaling-choosing-the-best-ddr3 On balance, I think more ram trumps faster ram. Spend your £30 elsewhere. If you do not already have a ssd, that is a very good performance upgrade. (not for £30 though)
