I'm a little confused. My roommate gave me his old PC and Windows reports 32Gb of DDR4 at 2133. I see from the mobo specs (MSI Mag b460m Bazooka) that this isn't a compatible speed. Is Windows reporting it wrong?
2133 is the default speed for DDR4. Higher speeds are XMP.I'm a little confused. My roommate gave me his old PC and Windows reports 32Gb of DDR4 at 2133. I see from the mobo specs (MSI Mag b460m Bazooka) that this isn't a compatible speed. Is Windows reporting it wrong?
I'll have to research what that means. I will say I'm not thrilled that it's such a slow speed.2133 is the default speed for DDR4. Higher speeds are XMP.
There is a BIOS option to enable XMP RAM speed. Read the user's manual.I'll have to research what that means. I will say I'm not thrilled that it's such a slow speed.
I'll check it out, thanksThere is a BIOS option to enable XMP RAM speed. Read the user's manual.
Oh. I didn't know, sorry. The speed supported is dependent on the cpu. I7/I9 is up to 2933, I5 and less is 2666.
There may be a difference between a 2 stick kit and a 4 stick kit.
No matter, Intel does not depend on fast ram for performance.
