Hello,
My Dell XPS 8940 desktop supports RAM at max 2933MHz. I had Samsung 16GB (x1), 3200 MHz installed, running at 2933MHz, and I decided to expand to 32. So I upgraded to Kingston FURY, 2x16GB, 3200MHz, and used the dual-channel slots (DIMM 1 and DIMM2, similar color codes). My system now does show 32GB RAM, however, clocked at 2400MHz!
I purchased new RAM speed same as the earlier RAM no to screw up anything. I am not sure what happened as I expected them to run at 2933MHz. Any thoughts on how to attain max speed? BTW, Dell BIOS menu does not have any option to enable XMP. There isn't any option to tweak Memory in BIOS.
System: i7-10700, Max RAM supported 128GB @ 2933MHz.
Thank you
