Ram speeds problem

Hi i have a custom built pc and the ram i have installed is coming up as really low speeds
My build is

• 
  Asrock N68C-S UCC Motherboard
  AMD Athlon ii x2 250 3.0ghz cpu
  500gb HDD
  120gb SSD
  Ordinairy 2GB DDR3 1333MHZ Ram
  Kingston Hyper x Fury 4GB 1600MHZ

my bios displays them both clearly but claims they are 400mhz
CPU-Z also shows they are running at 400mhz

Your X2 is rated to 800-1066, can try manually setting to 1066 - what model number of DRAM?

hi im not an expert when it comes to computer are you saying the ram freq is too high for the cpu and how would i adjust them

If running at 800 as you say, it's prob about right, can try to kick it to 1066 or higher, may require an OC of the CPU

the bios is showing 400mhz for each module and i really didnt want to oc my cpu

400 equates to 800 as 400 is true freq and 800 comes from DDR (DOUBLE data rate) Could still try manually setting to 1066 at 9-9-9-24 1.5

Manually set the DRAM freq (1066) primary timings (9-9-9-24) and voltage (1.5)

can that do any damage of sort i know sounds stupid asking but have never oc before

Should be fine, I pretty much OC or at least try to OCX evey set of DRAM I get my hands on, which is a lot
