I read the tomshardware pc 10000 article, and saw that 1250mhz RAM has barely any performance boost over 800 mhz. But what about the difference between 533, 667, and 800. I know that there is the optimal fsb to memory speed 1:1, and that after that, gains from faster memory decreases. If you have en E6600 at stock, how much of a speed increase would you get from changing 533 mhz (which would have the 1:1 ratio) to 667 mhz or 800 mhz?
And is there going to be a greater increase in performance with newer future apps?
