Question RAM upgrade crashing PC

Hi,

I recently upgraded my RAM and have been having consistent PC crashes. Crash can occur within minutes or after an hour, no error code and PC self-restarts. My MOBO has 2 slots only and I am using 2 sticks.

Firstly, I never had issues with my old ram (T-force), just wanted to upgrade capacity and frequency to be at the max my CPU+MOBO can support. The HyperX sticks I tried were not on my MOBO QVL so I ended up exchanging them for the Corsair Vengeance sticks (current memory) which are on the QVL, however the problem persists. I already sold my old T force RAM (2400MHz) unfortunately so cannot try that for troubleshooting.

Steps I have tried:
  1. Checked CPU and MOBO compatibility (both support 32GB at 2666MHz) - checked on official web pages including for my current MOBO version
  2. enabled XMP profile in BIOS + selected the profile at 2666MHz and correct speed/voltage as advertised on the memory packaging
  3. tried also with XMP disabled and with the memory frequency set to 2133MHz and 2400MHz
  4. confirmed Windows is detecting the memory at 32GB and whatever frequency I have selected
  5. tested DRAM voltage at both 1.2V and 1.35V
  6. Checked estimated power requirements for my setup (~450W) - have a 600W PSU
  7. Updated BIOS and CPU drivers
  8. Run memtest on both new sets of RAM - no errors across multiple runs
  9. Run windows memory tester on both sets - no errors
  10. I am currently running my PC on 1 stick only to see if the system has trouble with 32GB or if it is a slot issue (so far it is working but only been running for ~30 minutes)
Relevant specs: PRIME B360M-K, i7-8700, 600W PSU
Old RAM: 2 x 8 GB (16GB) DDR4 2400MHz T-force
New RAM ver1: 2 x 16 GB (32GB) DDR4 2666MHz HyperX Fury
New RAM ver2: 2 x 16 GB (32GB) DDR4 2666MHz Corsair Vengeance

Any help is much appreciated as I rely on my PC for work, university, and gaming.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list them like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
please include the age of the PSU, apart from it's make and model.

Updated BIOS and CPU drivers
BIOS version at this moment of time?

Are the sticks of ram seated properly into the ram slots?

Hi thanks for your response.

After posting this I was monitoring my fans and CPU temp and realised my CPU was over temping and was the reason for the shut downs. It must have been running close to max temp and then the extra memory and higher frequency pushed it over the limit. It is running okay now with 1 stick of 16GB lowered to 2133MHz. I am going to replace my stock intel CPU fan with a better one and hopefully that will sort the issue. Thanks again.
