Hi guys,
I have this 5-6 years old laptop that getting slower, and I want to know if & what kind of RAM I should buy to upgrade the current ones. Here is the scan result for RAM from the Corsair System Scanner.

I am guessing the laptop has 2 RAM slots both occupied by 4GB RAM sticks, but one is removable and
one is non-removable.

The questions:

1) If, according to the scanner, max RAM capacity is 20GB, then I can still buy 16GB max, right?

2) According to compatibility scan, it should be DDR4 2400-3200 SODIMM, does 3200 make that big a difference compared to 2400, or doesn't not matter because the most important is the GB?

Thanks

You have 4gb in a non removable slot.
Any of the three suggested sizes would be ok, depending on the total capacity you want.
The first 8gb will operate in dual channel mode and the odd ram in single channel mode.
Ram will operate at the speed of the lowest speed ram.
3200 will lower speed to the 2667 of the original.
If you use a 2400 speed addition, the original will run at 2400 speed.
Speed makes little difference except, perhaps to integrated graphics performance.

The 16gb stick would be best.

Thanks for your reply man,
So since the crucial scan suggested at least 2666, that means it is better for me to buy 16gb 2666 right?
