RAM Upgrade Question

Greetings all,

I am currently using 8GB Crucial Ballistix Tactical Tracer 1866MHz DDR3 (9-9-9-27, 1.5V).

Would upgrading to 16GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz DDR3 (9-9-9-24, 1.5V) be an upgrade and improve performance and could there be any potential compatibility issue with my mobo because of the difference in latency?

screen resolution?

I use both ssd's and hdd's in my setup.
Screen resolution is at 1920x1080.
Games I play include Civilization V, GTA V, TESV: Skyrim, Shadow of Mordor (Shadow of War, in future), Assassin's Creed: BLack Flag (Assassin's Creed Origins, in future).

get the new ram. not much of a different on the speed. And more ram mean less going back to the hdd/sdd

Will there be any potential compatibility issues, seeing as the latencies differ? Will I have to change something in the BIOS?

Not that I know of. should be a simple replace the old one with the new.

Alright. I didn't think there would be any problems. I usually just check on the forums to make sure - these components can be quite expensive.

Final question - would you use the same DIMM slots for the new RAM or should I use the ones that aren't currently in use?

Use the same one. Unless the manual said otherwise.
