Question RAM upgrade

Hello I want to upgrade my ram on Asus x550vx laptop but I found some kind of black tape in the spot. I put my memory in and the laptop recognised it so my question is should I remove the tape? I think if it would overheat, it will melt and mess my motherboard.

That doesn't look like TAPE but more of a plastic insulator, maybe to stop it flexing and touching the mainboard.
I wouldn't remove that.

Don't remove it. If it hasn't melted up until now, why would it melt moving forward??

Unless you are going to make it exceed 150'C at which point you'll probably have a fire already in your house.

Do you think these companies are stupid to put things in a computer that will/can melt?

Thank you guys for the fast answers. I was thinking that it was placed there as a seal, like in the picture above and should be removed so the ram memories to be connected. So I guess it only matters if the gold pins are connected in their place
