Hi, i am currently using crucial Crucial 8GB DDR4 desktop ram modelBLE8G4D26AFEA. I am thinking of adding another 8gb stick. Please suggest what i need to look out for (like manufacturer, latency, clock speed etc) to avoid ending up with compatibility issues.
You should first list your current specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Prior to any ram upgrades, make sure you're on the latest BIOS update. Then you will need to either source the exact same stick of ram or a ram kit to ensure you're in dual channel mode for the best performance.
Memory is guaranteed in the form sold. Adding extra memory has no guarantee to be compatible with existing memory. This includes exact match, same thing, identical.
I suggest you sell the current memory and buy a kit of two modules.
