Question RAM upgrade

Hello, I have an Asus notebook X550JX with 4 gb on-board memory, 1866 mhz, 1.35V. I just bought a 4gb ddr3L module with 1600 mhz and installed it. Everything seemed fine at first as in windows I could see I have 8gb of memory and the system was running faster, however every time I start playing a game the system will shut down after 2 seconds or so. If I take the new ram module out, games are running as normally. I ran memtest86 with 0 errors and updated the bios. I contacted Asus and they said there shouldn't be a problem between the 1866 and 1600 frequencies. Do you have any ideas?

It could be issues with different model RAM sticks since I've heard if you get two different sticks you can come across some issues.

To my experience you can mix speeds and brands, i have done this many times and on many builds, 0 issues so far
if you have the option i would try to RMA the ram module

Yes, I will return it and order a new one with 1866 mhz. I cant think of something else
