so my dad bought a laptop (Acer Aspire 5333) which had 1gb of ram, it was a bit slow so i went to the computer shop and added 1gb more ram cuz it had an extra slot.....
but since i added it the laptops gotten even slower and freezes a lot...
i even reinstalled a fresh new windows 7 from 10, but the performances hasnt gotten better..
i also closed all unnecessary apps that runs in the background from ms config... yet it still uses 1.60gb ram on idle....
help pls, thanks

2gb is the bare minimum required to run windows by itself. You really shouldn't ever use less than 4gb of RAM.

As for your lower performance did you buy the exact same model of RAM as the laptop already had? RAM is very picky being paired with other RAM sticks, lots of instability or outright refusal to boot up can occur if they don't like each other.
