Hi, I recently built a new computer (I have built computers in the past before) and there is an issue with ram.
Short story:
Bought 3600mhz ram, bios underclocked to 2133mz when I try set it to anything above exactly 3000mhz its restarts a few times before setting it back to 2133mhz yes I checked to make sure my motherboard supported the speed and all that stuff. Help would be appreciated!
I've heard Ryzen CPUs benifit from fast ram speeds. So I purchased this: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/6j...-2-x-8gb-ddr4-3600-memory-f4-3600c18d-16gtzrx (Trident Z RGB 3600mhz). When I finished building the PC I had to do a bios update with my friends CPU (long story) but when I got it to POST and went into the bios the ram had been set to 2133mhz (lowest speed). I changed it to 3600mhz (advertised speed) and the pc shut off and my power strip stopped working, I reset the power strip and it was fine and plugged the PC into the wall instead. Then I booted it and the BIOS told me it was back at 2133mhz. I tried again and this time the pc restarted 3 or 4 times before going back to 2133mhz. I know that my motherboard and CPU support the speed its very frustrating any help would be appreciated thanks!
