Info Random 8.9gb file in DiskCleanup that wouldn't delete - Fixed

Microsoft release KB5044384 that has stopped windows showing an undeletable file in diskcleanup.

It appears windows was missreporting and the file either didn't exist in first place or was other files not related to the issue

it no longer appears as a choice if you run disk cleanup

The KB also fixed SFC /scannow so it won't report files as fixed, unless they actually are. Often a restart is needed if it does fix anything here too.

That's interesting to know.

I've only run sfc in the last few days for something I was looking at. I'll check the KB is there just to be sure.

If you have Western Digital NVMe drives in your system then download the Western Digital Dashboard tool and use that to update the drive firmware. 24H2 can have issues with WD NVMe drives not on the latest firmware.
