Random black screens after motherboard install

Recently had to install a new motherboard, just got the same as the old one, plugged everything in and everything worked fine like before after i turned on the pc. But then i would start getting black screens after turning it on from sleep or when it was off. Sometimes the screen stays off indefinitely and sometimes i get a screen like this before boot (see image).

Sometimes i don't even get to this screen and the screen stays black, and sometimes i do and Windows has to restart from a problem, then i get a black screen and it stays off. I'm lucky if i get into Windows and use my computer now, so i'm not sure what to do.

the motherboard is a MSI G43-970A
graphics card AMD R9 280X
ram is Patriot DDR3 PSD34G160081
cpu AMD FX 8320 eight core

I would try and reseat ram,gpu and power connectors.

Do a clear cmos and go into the bios to reset optimal default values.

Only using one stick of ram? Try it first in the second slot from the cpu,but try all slots if still having the problem.

Which psu used? =maker+model+wattage.

Thanks Vic, but i managed to figure it out last night. Turns out the battery on my motherboard was dying, which would explain the randomness of my log-ins. I just put in a new one, a 2025 to replace the 2032, and its running like normal now.
