Random drives popping up and having issues.

Ever since I've updated to Windows 10, I've had a few issues. The one I'm here to ask about is one that is going on with the drives. My laptop came with two drives, one that is 120 GB set for (C: ) and a 1TB one set to (D: ).

So, my issue is, after an update and reboot earlier today, I've found that there are two new drives. An (E: ) and an (F: ). The E is the disk drive, and claims there is a disk in the computer, when there isn't. The other is labeled "SYSTEM (F: )" and only has 296mb of memory.

When I try to open it, it denies me permission to do so. It opens a tab saying to go to the security tab to access it, but even in there, I don't know what to do. Does anyone know what this is? Or why it's suddenly on my computer? Is it bad? How do I gain permission to view it? Or how do I remove it from my computer?

PS: Sorry about the stupid emots.

Hey there, LaughingToxin.

Would you please post a screenshot of what you see in Disk Management? Here's how to access it: How to access Disk Management in Windows to manage hard drives. Basically if those are system partitions or system reserved you should be able to remove the letters so that they don't appear in Windows Explorer. Check out this tutorial: How to change the drive letter assignment in Windows. Just select "remove" instead of "change" when you get to that step.

Hope that helps.

That's really odd. There's no F partition in Disk Management at all. Are those two different screenshots or was it one with 2 windows open as it's really odd if it was one.
Does the F partition ever pop-up in Disk Management? If it does, give it a try with the letter removal suggestion from my previous post.

It was two windows side by side. The F partition never shows up in the disk management.
It denies me the permission to do anything with it.
