Random hangs and restarts

Hello,

For some time now, my system has kept hanging, taking a while to while to start and restarting for no apparent reason. Usually, when it hangs or restarts, it's gonna do so momentarily unless I shut it down for a while.

The latest error I got was a glitched video followed by a series of restarts. The only thing that seemed to be related in the event log was error 0XC000000D.

I have cleaned the fan, the temp files, the registry, looked for viruses and malwares, reinstalled and updated all my programs, defragged the disks, and nothing's worked.
I really thought it was a temperature thing because my computer does get too hot sometimes, but the hangs and shutdowns happen at any time, even when it's cool.

I'm quite at a loss there... has anyone got any ideas?

Laptop model: Asus X77J (N71Jv)
OS: Windows 7 ultimate, 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5, M430
RAM: 8GB
HDD: Two 500GB Seagate st9500423as disks

Thanks in advance!

This procedure appears to solve the issue.

It MUST be done Exactly by the Steps.

1. DISABLE the Microsoft Antimalware Service

2. REBOOT the machine

3. DELELETE the EppOobe.etl File
(Reference Path) C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Microsoft Security Client\Support\EppOobe.etl

4. REBOOT the machine

5. ENABLE the Microsoft Antimalware Service

6. REBOOT the machine

7. Frequently CHECK the Administrative Events Log under Custom Views to ensure the error does not reappear.

NOTE: Just Deleting the EppOobe.etl file and Rebooting will NOT work.

Give it a try

I tried to disable the antimalware through regedit, but its value was already set to 1. If I'm not mistaken, does that mean it's already been disabled?

I think I did a regular Windows check of both my drives. I was just surprised that it didn't show me the results on startup, but I assumed it meant everything was fine, since Glaryutilities and other softwares hadn't found anything either.

Disk checkers only check the quality of the disk, not the quality of windows, I don't know of anything that does this but a system/startup repair may help
