So i just finished my 2nd pc build. and when i tried playing a game of cs2 i got many lag spikes/stutters (from around 140-200fps down to around 50-70) as well as input lag (basically when i pressed space to jump it took like 2-5 seconds before it happened on screen). This has never happened to me before, any tips to try help this/ tests to run to try find the error.

Could it be that it is because im only running the 8-pin from the psu to the motherboard for the cpu? (it has one 8-pin and one 4-pin. After asking on reddit and looking at other people asking this would be okay as long as i am not overclocking (which i am not))
Temps were also fine during this max cpu temp was around 50-60 and max gpu temp was 60 (hotspot was 81)

specs:
Motherboard: Asus rog strix b760-f
Cpu: Intel i5-14600k
Cpu cooler: NZXT Kraken pro 360
Ram: 2x8gb ddr5 Kingston fury rgb 5600mhz
Gpu: Asus rog strix 2070 super AD
Psu: Corsair RM850

reset bios and windows. Everything works perfectly now
As an added caution, I would check to see that you are on the latest BIOS update, and if not flash to the latest. This will require a CMOS reset after the BIOS flash if you do it. I would also make sure you have all your motherboard drivers installed that can be found on the support page for your motherboard. Your BIOS can be found on that same page!
