Hello,

I've just replaced my motherboard, ram and CPU with an Asus Z690-A Prime, XPG 6000mhz ram and a 12700K and I'm encountering the following problem:

The game I am playing randomly freezes and/or shuts down after 5-10min of gameplay and, at times, the whole PC freezes (mouse and keyboard are unresponsive) and I have to switch it off from the power button. Any idea why this is happening?

I disabled XMP from the bios and that seems to have solved the problem temporarily - I could play for 1hr without issues. But now, the day after, the problem came back. Not sure if disabling the xmp was just a coincidence or not.

I have all my windows, GPU and CPU drivers up to date, as well as Armoury Crate.

Any advice is more than welcome, thanks!

[Update] Now my Youtube is randomly crashing as well...

No, how do I do that? Doesnt the motherboard just have the standard bios and that's all?
No, because DDR5 is still new, there is alot of optimizations ongoing. You could just download this bios file, extract, put it on the flashdrive, plug the flashdrive in the top rear motherboard usb slot, go to bios (spam F2 and Del), press F7 to go to advanced mode, and find EZ Flash feature. After updating the bios, go update this USB PD firmware on windows.

What was your previous specs?

MSI Z170A M3 motherboard, i& Skylake, 16gb of ddr4 ram, 800W PSU (which I keep), GTX970 (which I kept), an SSD and an HDD (which I kept). One other thing that I noticed after replacing the motherboard, whenever I touch the case I get a small shock - not all the time, but sometimes I do. The motherboard is installed on standoff screws and there are no dust particles that could cause this either... Could it be the PSU? Would this be a potential reason for the freeze? If not, any suggestions on this issue would help nonetheless.
