I have a Netgear Nighthawk X6 and it has 3 bands (2.4 and two 5 GHz) and I'm using Windows 10. So random devices appear on my Network folder but they don't have any IP address assigned and the router log does not give them any IP.

I'm guessing this is because of WPS. Although the WPS PIN option is turned off, when I use the 2.4 and 5GHz bands, WPS is not entirely shut down.

My question is if this is OK? Like they don't have an IP address so it cant be possible to hack the computers right?

Or do you guys know any way to shut WPS off completely in a Netgear Nighthawk Router?

Can you post a screenshot of what you're referring to? I don't immediately see an issue. Your settings should show you any device broadcasting a wifi signal so you can choose to connect to it or not. But before I say you're OK, I want to make sure that what I'm thinking and what you're seeing are the same thing.

Lets say this one for instance. It does not have an IP Address, and the router did not assign it an IP address. I googled about this and it said something about 'ghosts' appearing in network folder bc phones, when scanning, are detected by microsoft windows., but they are never really are assigned an IP.
