Ok, i've installed xp twice now. the first time things went well untill one day i go to fire up my comp and i get a bsod...wierd one too. just figgured it was the xp version of it. it happened before i could even get to the option of starting in safemode...so reformat and install for me.

now that i've done that every once in a while (at seemingly random times, and different programs) the comp will just restart.

i've got all the latest service packs, drivers, etc.

i don't think it's hardware related but just in case:

Athlon (classic) 550
FIC SD11
448 MB PC133 ram
SB 512
3d prophet GeForce sdr
blah, blah, blah...

no vestige of a beginning, no prospect of an end, when we all disintegrate, it'll all happen again.

Always gotta question the powersupply if it's rebooting. What have you got? Install Motherboard Monitor and see if you're getting enough juice.

i was running 98se before and all the hardware was the same. obviously some of the drivers needed to be changed after xp but other than that all the software is the same too. :-(

ok, i'll check it out. but the problem started after i installed xp. and i haven't installed any new hardware that would be drawing any more power or anything.
