Howdy,
I am currently having the problem of my PC randomly shutting down and often times when I am away from it for extended amounts of time. It is always a kernel power error with the event ID of 41 and task category of 63, I have run memtest86 and it found no errors the 12v rail of my PSU is stable, temps are fine and I have disassembled and reassembled my PC in hopes of finding an air gap but have come up empty handed. Any thoughts?

I just remembered a similar problem long ago, it was a mobo's capacitor or similar key component that during idle it would discharge leading to a power failure. Though its quite usual to also have failed boots because of it but not necessarily in all cases.

How old is your mobo? or maybe it suffered recently some power surge during a lightning storm or something like that.

Well I got somewhere around a 98-99 in the 3DMark Firestrike stress test is there any other that you would recommend?

Well could that problem cause it to shut down while I am still doing something at the PC because although it is rare it does happen sometimes. To answer your question though I have had this mobo for around a year, however I had recently found out that it had not been grounded properly, could that be a cause?

It was my first build and didn't use the standoffs properly.
