Random stuttering in games

Hey, I built my PC a couple of months ago and for the last weeks all games stutters at low fps (measured with fraps) until I restart my computer, at which games start to run perfectly smooth at 120fps. It is definitely a weird problem and it seems only a reset fixes the problem until the next day or so.

My rig is:
AMD r9 290 tri-x
i5 4690k (custom cooler)
8gb 1866mhz ram

If you want me to include any else information il be glad to supply it.

have you checked your thermals. as it sounds like something is running intermittently hot.
run gpu-z and core temp in the bacground when you see this issue again and report back the results of your min and max temps for gpu cpu and vddc's (vrm's)

It sounds like a temperature issue, as HEXiT said, check your CPU and GPU temperatures when running a game (or a benchmark like 3DMark, Unigine Heaven/Valley or use the Prime95 stress test) and then report back temperatures.
