This has happened twice to me now, and last night was a real scare. I thought my computer just quit on me. It is about 2 years old, and I will put the specs below. I have no idea why it randomly turned off. I got it starting again and running fine. I looked at the event logs and i have a lot of error but only 1 critical error. The code was kernel power and that just means a shut down not the safe way. The reason for this was i had to turn it off that way because nothing else was working on the computer. I unplugged the mother board 24-pin cable and that make it reset and turn back on. I did clean my computer the day before with compressed air. I want to know if anyone else has had problems like this? I just dont know if it is going to happen again if it is something more than it was just loose. All my temps are good to go. For my CPU I run 63C on full load, and 60C on my GPU at 50%(It wont go any higher unless in stress test).

Specs:
CPU Intel 4690K i5
GPU gtx 980 ti
motherboard PC mate z97
storage kingston ssd 128gb - 1 tb hard drive no idea what it is
PSU corsair cs600

Solution
you say all the lights and fans turn off. Are they the lights on the motherboard and system fans plugged into the motherboard or are they all add on's plugged into molex plugs from the PSU.
