The pc randomly turn off and on immediately afterwards. Sometimes it can go a whole day without this happening while sometimes it just take about 2-3 hours to happen. It does happen at idle and while gaming

My immediate thoughts on your issues are

1) Heating issue. For instance, if the CPU overheats the system will reboot without prompt.
2) It could be your PSU isn't beefy enough for all your components. a 450w PSU running that 970 is really cutting it close on energy consumption / provision.

Can you provide us with system temperatures, ambient temperature, load/idle temps?

I'm not sure how to check it other than HWMonitor. Most of the time it's just 45-55 C at idle or mild activities (browsing internet and streaming)

yes it is.

It's almost definitely a PSU issue. That CPU should be fine at up to around 72C. But a 450W power supply just isn't enough for a GTX 970, for which NVidia recommends a 500W minimum, though I'd recommend at least a 600W for some breathing room (I'd probably go with a Corsair CX600, to be more specific).

sigh I was hoping for not a new PSU. Then again I shouldn't be cutting corners in the first place. My only option is the SFX Series from Silverstone. is 550w is enough or should I get the 600w ?
