I have a Huawei HG630b Home Gateway located more or less in the centre of the house. This is the Modem/Router connected to the internet. I also have a Netgear WN1000RP Range Extender at one end of the house and a Netgear WN2000RPT at the other end of the house.
The WiFi signal from the WN1000RP is weak compared to the WN2000RPT to the extent that even if I am in the same room as the WN1000RP the signal is no better than the WN2000RPT at the other end of the house.
Does anyone know of any tweaks to improve the signal from the WN1000RP or is this just a poor quality device.

you get what you pay for also netgear is pretty infamous for bad range (from my experience) i would suggest buying a more expensive wireless adapter because hey internet is about 50% of gameplay if you have a 750$ pc no reason not to spend 70$ on wifi! i recommend the pce-ac56
