Question Raspberry pi acting as a tether?

So quite a weird question, i have a raspberry pi 4 and i was wondering if i could use the usb 3.0 on it to act as a tether between the rift s and my pc ( i have no usb 3.0 and am planning on getting a new motherboard obviously this would be purely temporary but could it work?)

I doubt it would work and if it did, it's probably be much more work that just adding a PCI-Ex1 USB3 card to your current system.

Actually I did try that at first but my mobo is so old it only has pci 1 and 2 no pcie

If your motherboard only has PCI (no PCI-E) then it's too old to run the Rift S anyway. Do you know the model number of the motherboard in question?

It doesn’t have one it was prebuilt by lenovo

It’s rlly old, has no pcie ddr3 ram and lga 1155 socket for cpu

If it's a prebuilt from Lenovo, you're probably just going to start a whole new build. Just updating your current would probably mean getting a new motherboard, a new case, and a new power supply. Not sure if socket 1155 motherboards came with USB3 ports, so you'd still need the USB3 PCI-Ex1 board.
